Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in commissioning, construction management, mission-critical facilities, facility operations, startup, testing, or project management.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, and other critical infrastructure systems.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, commissioning plans, operating sequences, test procedures, and technical documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience with Bluebeam or comparable document-management software.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, risks, and stakeholder expectations independently.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50–75% of the time.
- Experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities is strongly preferred.
- Experience leading Level 3, Level 4, and Integrated Systems Testing is a plus.
- Certifications such as CAPM, PMP, CxA, CBCP, or CCP are valued.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage commissioning activities for assigned data center projects, buildings, or major project scopes from planning through closeout.
- Develop and maintain commissioning plans, schedules, testing strategies, issue logs, turnover plans, and supporting documentation.
- Lead Level 3, Level 4, and Integrated Systems Testing, serving as the primary commissioning representative during critical testing events.
- Track deficiencies, corrective actions, retesting requirements, and outstanding issues through resolution.
- Represent the owner's interests throughout commissioning and turnover, holding contractors, vendors, and commissioning providers accountable for quality, schedule, and deliverables.
- Manage project closeout and coordinate the collection and review of testing reports, punch lists, operating manuals, and warranties.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and best-practice sharing to less experienced commissioning professionals.
