Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- Deep understanding of concurrent programming and building scalable backend systems in cloud environments.
- Strong experience in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Java, C#, Go, Python).
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks and full-stack development.
- Fluency in AI coding tools such as Cursor, Codex, Claude, or Open Code.
- Ability to communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical partners.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, GraphQL, Kafka, or containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Ability to work within the Java ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of highly visible features while balancing security, privacy, and performance.
- Work with Product and Data partners to turn business goals into clear technical specifications, often leading multi-quarter initiatives.
- Set the bar for code quality, lead review standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Use AI tools to plan approaches, decompose work, and establish monitoring and reliability standards.
- Define operational strategy and design highly fault-tolerant architectures, proactively managing structural risks.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, consolidate, or retire legacy code to increase team velocity.
