Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing and developing production software systems.
- Experience in technical leadership roles.
- Strong proficiency with RESTful APIs, service boundaries, and domain/data models.
- Experience with .NET/C#, Java, Node.js, or Python.
- Experience with modern front-end architectures (React, TypeScript).
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, SQLite).
- Experience with configuration-driven systems, workflow engines, or rules engines.
- Understanding of application security, privacy, and authentication/authorization.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.
- Health IT or complex regulated data systems experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical architecture and delivery for public-interest digital services.
- Design and maintain versioned APIs, data models, and configuration schemas.
- Guide the development of configurable, rules-driven workflows.
- Establish technical patterns for security, privacy, accessibility, and observability.
- Define integration approaches for government systems and external APIs.
- Review architecture and code while mentoring engineering team members.
- Partner with product, design, research, and security teams.
- Support deployment, troubleshooting, and production transition.
