Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related discipline; or 8+ years of equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in payroll tax compliance, including tax filing, auditing, notice resolution, and amendment processing.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll and tax regulations in the United States and United Kingdom.
- Strong working knowledge of Workday Payroll, including analyzing, troubleshooting, and reporting on system, data, and processing issues.
- Experience using TaxEx or comparable payroll tax filing software.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with U.S. multi-state and/or U.K. payroll processing preferred.
- FPC or CPP certification and Workday certification are advantageous.
- Experience managing garnishments and relationships with trustees or relevant agencies is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the preparation, processing, and timely filing of federal, state, and local payroll tax returns and payments for U.S. and U.K. corporate payroll operations.
- Audit payroll tax accounts across jurisdictions, investigate discrepancies, resolve tax notices, and prepare amendments when required.
- Administer garnishment orders, including processing through tax systems and coordinating with garnishing trustees and government agencies.
- Support year-end payroll tax activities, including W-2s, W-2Cs, and other regulatory filings.
- Serve as backup for biweekly U.S. multi-state and monthly U.K. payroll processing.
- Maintain and support Workday Payroll configuration, administration, integrations, reporting, and data loads.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, process checklists, and reporting tools.
