Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience building and operating production data platforms, backend systems, or distributed data-intensive applications.
- Highly proficient in Python with experience building maintainable production software.
- Experience designing and operating production data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, orchestration, monitoring, failure recovery).
- Strong experience with relational databases and analytical platforms (PostgreSQL, Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.).
- Experience with cloud-native architecture (AWS or GCP) including networking, storage, compute, and managed services.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
- Familiarity with modern CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Expertise in data modeling, schema design, and query performance optimization.
- Experience designing APIs and programmatic interfaces for data access.
- Experience working in collaborative Git-based development environments.
- Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate at a Staff level by driving architecture and influencing engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own scalable data infrastructure supporting LLM, agentic, machine learning, analytics, and experimentation workflows.
- Build and operate reliable batch and event-driven data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, enrichment, and delivery.
- Develop ETL/ELT pipelines for data warehouses and curated datasets.
- Design data models, APIs, and storage patterns for accessible structured and unstructured data.
- Build data-backed services for LLM applications including RAG, vector search, and tool integrations.
- Develop reusable Python components supporting production AI workflows.
- Design and operate cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) using IaC and containerized workloads.
- Establish standards for data quality, observability, testing, and security.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and influence architectural direction.
