Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in data analysis, including substantial hands-on experience with data migration efforts.
- Demonstrated experience building detailed data mapping between disparate systems, including identifying and defining necessary transformations.
- Working proficiency in coding/scripting (e.g., SQL, Python, or similar) to develop data conversion scripts.
- Familiarity with API concepts and experience supporting API development/integration for system-to-system data exchange.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently uncover data relationships and requirements that aren't already documented.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, fully fleshed-out mapping documentation and transformation recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work remotely while residing in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Plan and support execution of a large-scale, extended data migration effort.
- Perform in-depth data analysis of source and target systems to understand data structures, relationships, and dependencies.
- Develop and maintain scripts to support data conversion as part of the migration process.
- Support development of APIs to enable data exchange and migration.
- Identify and document all data elements requiring mapping between systems, including uncovering data relationships and requirements not already documented.
- Define and document required data transformations and produce fully fleshed-out mapping deliverables suitable for technical and business stakeholders.
- Provide senior-level recommendations on transformation logic, data quality handling, and overall migration approach.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to validate mapping and transformation decisions.
- Support testing and validation of migrated data for completeness and accuracy.
- Document migration processes, mapping decisions, and lessons learned throughout the engagement.
