Requirements
- CPA required.
- 6+ years of progressive experience, with a blend of external audit, financial reporting, technical accounting, and controllership.
- Demonstrated depth in ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 842, and ASC 350-40.
- Strong systems and data fluency including NetSuite (or comparable large ERP) and advanced Excel.
- Ability to independently research and document complex accounting treatments.
- Proven track record of organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to operate with limited direction and handle confidential matters.
- Experience incorporating Claude or other AI tools into processes.
- Big 4 or national firm audit foundation is strongly preferred.
- Experience with public company or IPO-readiness, including SOX and disclosure design, is preferred.
- Background in E-commerce, CPG, or DTC industries is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare audit-ready technical memos, analyses, and accounting policies per FASB and SEC requirements.
- Support evolution of the reporting function to meet public-company standards for investor and lender reporting.
- Serve as the primary contact for external audits, managing timelines and documentation.
- Lead reviews of controllership processes to improve financial statement accuracy and internal controls.
- Leverage AI tools to drive financial performance insights and departmental efficiency.
- Own highly technical areas of the close cycle, including equity compensation, revenue recognition, leases, and capitalized software.
