Requirements
- 4+ years of industry experience in software development.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong programming/coding and design fundamentals (Golang, Python or similar).
- Deep hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar).
- Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM systems, threat models, and mitigations.
- Experience designing and operating highly reliable, scalable distributed systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence without direct authority.
Responsibilities
- Design and build core components of Samsara's Cloud Governance Platform, contributing hands-on to cloud IAM, security controls, compliance enforcement, and software supply-chain security capabilities.
- Contribute to the roadmap for governance and security tooling across AWS and GCP, bringing engineering judgment to prioritization discussions.
- Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into automated, continuously enforced controls through direct implementation.
- Build and maintain software supply-chain security tooling, including SAST, DAST, and secure CI/CD pipeline patterns.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Product Engineering teams to implement solutions for cross-functional risk and governance problems.
- Share technical knowledge with teammates through code reviews, pairing, and day-to-day collaboration.
- Clearly communicate technical approach, tradeoffs, and risks in design docs and team discussions.
