Requirements

  • 7+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience.
  • Strong technical background in cloud-native and infrastructure systems, specifically AWS.
  • Experience owning or leading Infrastructure-as-Code practices using tools like Terraform or Spacelift.
  • Experience building and operating infrastructure automation.
  • Track record of operating services with a high reliability bar including monitoring, on-call, and incident response.
  • Strong operational judgment with the ability to drive clarity and prioritization.
  • Familiarity with least-privilege IAM models and access governance.
  • Strong programming background with proficiency in Python, Go, or Kotlin.
  • Strong communication and organizational leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the vision and multi-quarter roadmap, tying foundational investments to critical, business-impacting outcomes.
  • Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Partner with engineering leadership and stakeholders to align Infra Foundations priorities with broader infrastructure, platform, and security goals.
  • Own the reliability and safety of AWS account provisioning, core networking, and human IAM access.
  • Drive the team's automation charter, delivering frameworks for provisioning and managing complex stacks using IaC rails like GitHub and Spacelift.
  • Steward critical operational programs including quota management, AMI patch management, and configuration management.
  • Establish and hold the operational bar for SLAs, alerting, incident response, and automated validation.
  • Drive adoption of frameworks through self-service tooling, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
