Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Minimum of one year of experience in patient financial services, financial services, collections, or the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of common office software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently using critical thinking skills.
- Experience with Cerner Rev Cycle, PowerChart, NextGen, MS4, or FinThrive preferred.
- Previous cash collections experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process payments, adjustments, claims, correspondence, refunds, denials, financial/charity applications, and payment plans.
- Reconcile, balance, and pursue account balances and denials using payor remits and facility contracts.
- Research payments and accounts to identify and resolve short/over payments, contract discrepancies, and coding errors.
- Build relationships with business units and provider offices to identify and correct billing trends.
- Respond to incoming and make outbound calls to resolve billing, payment, and accounting issues.
- Work as a member of the financial services team to achieve goals for outstanding accounts and reduce accounts receivable.
