Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production.
- Experience managing large databases with hundreds of millions of rows.
- Solid understanding of indexing strategies and query execution paths.
- Solid understanding of transactions, isolation levels, and locking.
- Experience working with AWS-based infrastructure, specifically AWS Aurora.
- Ability to independently investigate and resolve complex performance issues.
- Familiarity with analytical databases like ClickHouse or Tinybird (preferred).
- Experience with OpenSearch or similar search tools (preferred).
- Background in payments, billing, or fintech systems (preferred).
- Understanding of event-driven architectures and data pipelines (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Own and operate AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL) in a high-load production environment.
- Design and evolve schemas for large transactional domains including payments, customers, and subscriptions.
- Implement table partitioning, advanced indexing, and query tuning.
- Analyze and resolve performance issues related to lock contention, vacuum, and connection pooling.
- Design high-performance search solutions for internal CRM tools.
- Manage event and log data pipelines using ClickHouse or Tinybird.
- Define and monitor database health metrics and execute safe schema migrations.
