Requirements
- Excellent spoken and written English proficiency.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in property development, construction, or project-based accounting.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining commitment registers or committed-cost reports.
- Strong understanding of development accounting and contract management.
- Experience processing builder progress claims, tracking retention, and provisional sums.
- Experience preparing monthly project cost reports and forecasting final costs.
- Practical knowledge of Australian GST and BAS requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills (multi-tab workbooks, formulas, lookups, conditional formatting, reconciliation).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines.
- Availability to work part-time during agreed Australian business hours.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a complete and accurate commitment register for all consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Process monthly builder progress claims and track retention balances.
- Prepare monthly project cost reports, including budgets, variations, and forecast final costs.
- Prepare construction loan drawdown schedules and supporting documentation.
- Submit BAS obligations and manage GST input tax credits.
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations and monitor accounts receivable.
- Maintain auditable financial records in Google Drive and support external accountants.
