Requirements
- Experience delivering customer-facing migration, installation, training, or technical advisory engagements.
- Experience using, deploying, or configuring GitLab with solid understanding of Git and source control workflows.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code or configuration as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, or Chef).
- Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes, including deployments, rollouts, and debugging.
- Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and knowledge of network design.
- Ability to read, understand, and modify infrastructure tooling with familiarity in Go, Python, or Ruby.
- Ability to independently lead multiple customer projects.
- Effective written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to build agreement in a remote, asynchronous environment.
- Solution-oriented approach and experience with cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead migrations from self-managed GitLab to GitLab Dedicated, utilizing GitLab Geo for data replication.
- Design migration runbooks and automation to ensure repeatable cutovers, validating environments built with Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes.
- Manage customer network connectivity including VPCs, private connectivity, DNS configurations, and firewall rules.
- Apply infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code practices to validate and interact with dedicated environments.
- Advise customers on migration sequencing, cutover windows, and risk mitigation.
- Improve migration tooling, scripts, and documentation to increase delivery efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Professional Services to resolve technical blockers.
