Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data platform, data engineering, analytics engineering, or DataOps in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Expertise in database internals, including query execution, performance tuning, and storage models.
- Proven dbt experience with the ability to perform code reviews and set standards.
- Working knowledge of the AWS data stack (Redshift, S3, IAM, Athena, Glue).
- Experience with lakehouse architectures (Apache Iceberg, Delta) and pipeline orchestration (Apache Airflow).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi, Terraform).
- Demonstrated ability to write clear documentation, guides, and architecture decisions.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Must be based in Germany or Portugal.
Responsibilities
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability to ensure data platform reliability.
- Contribute to architecture discussions by documenting trade-offs and engineering standards.
- Build and maintain internal tooling to remove friction for data teams.
- Support AI adoption within the data infrastructure.
- Develop and enhance Redshift data warehouse models using dbt and Paradime.
- Orchestrate data pipelines using MWAA and manage infrastructure as code with Pulumi or Terraform.
- Build ingestion pipelines for ELT, Python-based, and event-based data patterns into a S3/Glue/Iceberg lakehouse.
