Requirements
- PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, computer science, or a closely related field.
- 7+ years of experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, or data science within a drug discovery or biotech context.
- Proven track record of building and owning data infrastructure in small, resource-constrained organizations.
- Hands-on experience with nucleic acid sequence design (ASO, siRNA, or related modalities).
- Fluency with cloud data platforms like GCP or AWS and bioinformatics workflow tools.
- Native AI user with regular, practical experience using tools like Claude or Copilot.
- Experience evaluating or deploying scientific data management platforms such as Benchling or Dotmatics.
- Demonstrated ability to build operational systems and standards from scratch.
- Experience directing senior PhD scientists with clarity and precision.
- Strong ability to execute independently in ambiguous, high-pace environments.
Responsibilities
- Own LIMS implementation and strategy, including evaluating or replacing platforms like Benchling or Dotmatics.
- Develop and maintain data infrastructure standards for raw assay data, ASO design files, and CRO deliverables.
- Implement program tracking and decision systems to serve as a single source of truth for scientific programs.
- Build and maintain AI-assisted pipelines for data analysis, literature synthesis, and scientific decision support.
- Direct the bioinformatics team to ensure outputs meet operational and scientific standards.
- Establish an incoming data QC process for computational and omics deliverables to remediate vendor quality issues.
- Partner with the Wet Lab Scientific Operations Director to synchronize experimental and computational programs.
