Requirements
- Hands-on experience contributing to a design system at scale, including designing components and maintaining Figma libraries.
- Strong understanding of design token systems, semantic naming, and multi-brand patterns.
- Expertise in creating design systems interpretable by AI, including structured content and machine-readable patterns.
- Solid grounding in accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
- Experience writing clear component documentation for both human and AI consumption.
- Technical acumen with an understanding of how design systems are implemented in code.
- Experience partnering with engineering teams to ensure design-code parity.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French.
- Experience supporting product designers through office hours or peer reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to evangelize a design system and present design rationale to non-design stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain components, patterns, and tokens in Purse, the internal design system.
- Partner closely with engineering to ensure design-code parity across web, mobile, and tablet platforms.
- Write and maintain component documentation serving designers, engineers, and AI tools, including usage rules, anatomy, and accessibility standards.
- Run audits and support product designers by turning recurring needs into systemic improvements.
- Work alongside the Design System Manager to evolve the design system through incremental, high-value milestones.
