Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, CS, Criminal Justice, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of threat actors, campaigns, indicators of compromise, and TTPs.
- Practical use of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Working knowledge of cloud environments (AWS or GCP).
- Proficiency in scripting, detection, or query languages (PowerShell, Python, SQL, KQL, SPL, Sigma, or YARA).
- Experience in cyber threat intelligence, incident response, or security operations.
- Experience leading incident response through triage, containment, and recovery.
- Experience developing and executing hypothesis-driven threat hunts.
- Experience tuning detection content using SIEM, EDR, or detection-as-code practices.
- Hands-on experience with EDR/XDR, SIEM, and vulnerability assessment platforms.
- Experience with SOAR platforms and building automated workflows.
- Ability to participate in rotational after-hours on-call and incident escalation schedules.
Responsibilities
- Manage vulnerability intelligence, monitor threats, and set remediation priorities for the vSOC and Clubs.
- Direct research using OSINT, social media, and dark web sources to track threat actors and campaigns.
- Build and improve automation for threat intel enrichment, alert correlation, and reporting.
- Develop detection content, hunt hypotheses, and alert logic using SIEM, EDR, Sigma, and YARA.
- Lead incident response lifecycles, serving as incident commander for security events and managing bridges with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Direct post-incident reviews, document findings, and update playbooks.
- Own the security awareness strategy, including training and phishing simulations.
- Plan and conduct League-wide and Club-level tabletop exercises to test response plans.
