Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Active bar membership.
- 3–6 years of professional experience counseling product and engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of privacy and technology legal matters.
- Strong foundation in healthcare privacy regulations including HIPAA and HITECH.
- Knowledge of state privacy laws.
- Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning legal considerations.
- Experience with intellectual property and advertising law.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in balancing legal risk with business velocity.
Responsibilities
- Advise Product and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle from design to launch.
- Implement privacy-by-design principles and lead privacy assessments for new features, including AI-powered products.
- Provide guidance on HIPAA, HITECH, and relevant state privacy laws.
- Draft and maintain user-facing legal documentation.
- Advise on data-sharing practices and vendor integrations.
- Collaborate with Marketing on advertising and consumer protection compliance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Security, Compliance, Operations, and Finance.
