Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue recognition in a SaaS or technology environment.
- Deep working knowledge of ASC 606 (multi-element arrangements, contract modifications).
- Strong understanding of ASC 340-40 contract cost accounting.
- Experience with bad debt reserve methodologies and aging analysis.
- Demonstrated experience preparing PBC schedules for external audits.
- Advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, complex formulas).
- Proficiency with a major ERP platform such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures in accordance with ASC 606.
- Prepare and review monthly revenue journal entries, deferred revenue roll-forwards, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate accounting for variable consideration, contract modifications, and multi-element arrangements.
- Manage accounting for contract costs under ASC 340-40, including capitalization and amortization.
- Contribute to financial close processes, variance analysis, and bad debt reserve calculations.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and support sales/use tax research.
- Partner with external auditors by preparing PBC schedules and responding to audit requests.
- Collaborate with Sales, Billing, and Customer Success to resolve billing disputes and financial queries.
