Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive communications, public relations, or media relations experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, PR, Journalism, or related field.
- Established professional relationships with media, editors, producers, and creators.
- Demonstrated experience executing PR strategies across traditional and emerging media.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills for pitches, op-eds, and executive messaging.
- Strong editorial judgment to simplify complex programmatic or legal information.
- Proven experience in executive media training and coaching.
- Experience in crisis communications and rapid-response management.
- Leadership and people-management skills, including mentoring talent.
- Experience managing external PR agency relationships.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar).
- Ability to travel domestically, including travel to Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute earned-media and PR strategy across national, regional, digital, and broadcast channels.
- Identify news pegs and cultural moments to secure relevant coverage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with reporters, editors, producers, and creators.
- Draft press materials, op-eds, bylines, and rapid-response communications.
- Lead entertainment and talent partnership communications.
- Train and manage a spokesperson bench for broadcast and digital interviews.
- Support crisis communications and rapid-response efforts.
- Manage external PR agencies and mentor the Entertainment Partnerships Manager.
