Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3–5 years of experience handling insurance claims within the property and casualty or specialty lines industry.
- Experience interpreting policy language, coverage analysis, and managing claim negotiations.
- State adjuster license where required or ability to obtain within specified timeframe.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills to assess claim details and policy coverage.
- Proficiency in claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
- Knowledge of state insurance regulations and legal compliance requirements.
- Industry designations such as AIC (Associate in Claims) or CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve moderately complex claims in accordance with company guidelines and applicable laws.
- Review policy coverage and determine exposure based on contract terms and legal precedents.
- Negotiate fair and timely settlements with claimants, attorneys, and third-party representatives.
- Provide accurate and timely updates to internal systems and maintain complete documentation of claim files.
- Collaborate with underwriting, legal, and finance teams to ensure alignment and risk mitigation.
- Identify and escalate potential fraud or litigation risks as appropriate.
- Deliver quality customer service by maintaining open communication and providing explanations of coverage decisions.
