Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another relevant technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience solving complex problems involving sophisticated, distributed, data-driven, and highly performant software applications.
- Strong hands-on programming experience in multiple languages, including professional proficiency in both C++ and Python.
- Experience working with AWS or comparable cloud technology stacks.
- Experience improving software development, quality assurance, release, and deployment processes.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate third-party software systems as well as design and build components from the ground up.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, and core relational database concepts.
- Professional experience working in Linux environments and confidence using the command line and shell tools.
- Ability to write effective shell scripts.
- Experience using Git or comparable source code management systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex, data-driven software components and systems, with a primary focus on C++ and Python.
- Contribute to the architectural direction of the product by evaluating technologies, technical approaches, and cloud-based architectures.
- Build and improve testing infrastructure while developing comprehensive automated tests to strengthen software quality and reliability.
- Partner with operations teams to investigate and resolve production issues, while identifying opportunities to incorporate permanent improvements into the product.
- Develop internal tools that improve deployment, administration, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with product teams to understand, clarify, and refine feature requirements and technical specifications.
- Establish and continuously improve software development standards, engineering best practices, quality processes, and deployment workflows.
