Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proven experience leading high-stakes consulting engagements.
- Proficiency in languages/frameworks: Java, C#/.NET, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Go, Ruby, Scala, R, and SQL.
- Experience building or integrating AI/ML-powered features (e.g., recommendation engines, NLP, computer vision).
- Expertise in architecture-level concerns: scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
- Experience with automated testing and refactoring legacy code.
- Proficiency with Git, MacOS/Linux, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Experience with platform engineering, data engineering (e.g., Databricks), or agentic AI systems (e.g., LangChain) is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-stakes consulting engagements from discovery to production.
- Drive architecture and software design discussions.
- Collaborate on systems involving the full ML lifecycle including data ingestion, modeling, and deployment.
- Manage project roadmaps and maintain relationships with client technical leaders.
- Provide status updates to clients and identify/mitigate technical risks.
- Mentor team members and lead workshops.
- Facilitate team retrospectives and feedback sessions.
- Model 8th Light's values and contribute to team culture.
