Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of combined experience across product design and front-end engineering.
- Proficiency in both Figma and modern front-end codebases.
- Experience owning or substantially contributing to a production design system.
- Experience working with Storybook or equivalent component libraries.
- Strong front-end development skills including React and TypeScript.
- Expertise in modern CSS and design tokens.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices.
- Comfort with AI-enabled design and prototyping workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work self-directed and prioritize high-leverage investments.
- Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the Oomnitza design system end-to-end including visual language, interaction patterns, and accessibility guardrails.
- Maintain and extend the Storybook component library to ensure components are correct, documented, performant, and accessible.
- Build and maintain prototyping tooling such as design tokens, AI-prompt scaffolds, and starter kits.
- Consult with Product Engineers on novel UX interactions and integrate them into the system.
- Partner with engineering to align the design system with the implementation library.
- Review prototypes against the system to ensure quality and prevent drift.
- Track and evaluate new design-engineering tools and AI investments to improve team velocity.
