Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of combined experience across product design and front-end engineering.
  • Proven experience owning or substantially contributing to a production design system.
  • Experience managing a Storybook or equivalent component library.
  • Strong front-end development skills including React, TypeScript, and modern CSS.
  • Deep understanding of design tokens and accessibility best practices.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled design and prototyping workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed, outcome-oriented approach to prioritization and execution.
  • Strong taste and ability to codify design into reusable patterns.
  • B2B SaaS or enterprise software experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Oomnitza design system end-to-end: visual language, interaction patterns, accessibility guardrails, and the rules that keep the product feeling like one product.
  • Maintain and extend the Storybook component library, ensuring components are documented, performant, and accessible.
  • Build and maintain prototyping tooling such as design tokens, AI-prompt scaffolds, design markdowns, and starter kits.
  • Consult with Product Engineers on novel UX interactions and standardize them into the system.
  • Partner with engineering to ensure the design system and implementation library remain aligned.
  • Review prototypes to ensure design quality and flag system drift.
  • Research and propose investments in new design-engineering tools like Figma plugins or AI design workflows.
