Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, computer science, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of combined experience across product design and front-end engineering.
- Proven experience owning or substantially contributing to a production design system.
- Experience managing a Storybook or equivalent component library.
- Strong front-end development skills including React, TypeScript, and modern CSS.
- Deep understanding of design tokens and accessibility best practices.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled design and prototyping workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed, outcome-oriented approach to prioritization and execution.
- Strong taste and ability to codify design into reusable patterns.
- B2B SaaS or enterprise software experience is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the Oomnitza design system end-to-end: visual language, interaction patterns, accessibility guardrails, and the rules that keep the product feeling like one product.
- Maintain and extend the Storybook component library, ensuring components are documented, performant, and accessible.
- Build and maintain prototyping tooling such as design tokens, AI-prompt scaffolds, design markdowns, and starter kits.
- Consult with Product Engineers on novel UX interactions and standardize them into the system.
- Partner with engineering to ensure the design system and implementation library remain aligned.
- Review prototypes to ensure design quality and flag system drift.
- Research and propose investments in new design-engineering tools like Figma plugins or AI design workflows.
