Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in qualified/non-qualified plans, including sales support, design consultation, document drafting, and non-discrimination testing.
- Expert knowledge of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Department of Labor (DOL), and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace, and cloud-based client portals.
- Proven ability to proactively manage workload and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience working with sponsors, recordkeepers, and/or TPAs.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to client and stakeholder engagement.
- Nice to have: Knowledge of plan document drafting systems (e.g., FT William, Datair, ASC, Sungard Relius).
- Nice to have: Familiarity with API functionality and CRM software like Salesforce.
- Nice to have: QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator) or higher credential from ASPPA.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Plan Sponsors to create optimal defined contribution plan designs and ensure clarity on plan specifications.
- Perform plan spec reviews against design models to support sales and onboarding processes.
- Interpret ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations to draft, amend, and restate compliant retirement plan documents.
- Exercise independent judgment to evaluate plan design requests and assess legal/operational risk.
- Partner with internal teams including Onboarding, Retirement Plan Administration, and Client Success to ensure documentation supports seamless administration.
- Manage workflows for large-scale document projects and support product teams in improving document automation capabilities.
