Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 4+ years leading and growing engineering teams in a product-focused environment.
- Demonstrated track record of shipping and scaling consumer-facing products in a direct-to-consumer or fintech context.
- Experience building high-performing distributed teams.
- Strong instincts for developing engineers and creating clarity in ambiguous environments.
- Strong cross-functional partnership and influence skills.
- Experience with international or multi-market product development.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a full-stack, Europe-based engineering team building the Affirm App and Direct-to-Consumer products for Canada, the UK, and future markets.
- Own the full software lifecycle from strategy to production.
- Set a clear technical roadmap, translating international growth objectives into executable engineering plans.
- Hire, develop, and retain engineers at all levels and create career growth paths.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with product, design, data science, and business partners across time zones.
- Establish standards for system reliability, performance, and scalability on products serving millions of consumers globally.
- Foster a culture of ownership, curiosity, and AI-assisted productivity.
