Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building backend software at a product company.
- Strong Java skills including API design, async processing, concurrency, and performance tuning.
- Solid SQL skills (schema design, query optimization, migrations) in a backend context.
- Experience running production services on Kubernetes and AWS (EKS, IAM, networking, RDS, S3).
- Proficiency with CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD/Flux, Terraform/Pulumi).
- Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and testing.
- Experience shipping production code using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor).
- Strong architectural judgment for API, service design, and performance at runtime.
- Ability to work independently in a distributed, async team.
- Fluent in English.
Responsibilities
- Design and build robust backend services and APIs in Java for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
- Ship product features end-to-end by working directly with product teams and customers.
- Improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of owned services through production on AWS and Kubernetes.
- Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and observability systems.
- Develop systems that support agentic development, including fast CI feedback and reliable development environments.
- Drive architectural decisions regarding service design and platform evolution.
