Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or active CPA candidacy strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Full-cycle month-end close ownership experience.
- Experience with multi-state and/or international tax compliance.
- Familiarity with equity administration platforms (e.g., Carta) and stock compensation accounting (ASC 718).
- Experience reviewing or managing the work of a junior team member or outsourced provider.
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or a similar general ledger system.
- Experience with modern fintech tools (e.g., Brex) and payroll/PEO platforms.
- Track record of improving or modernizing accounting processes and systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
Responsibilities
- Own weekly AR and AP aging reviews and manage vendor payment cadences.
- Maintain strong cash controls and deliver weekly cash reports.
- Manage filing accuracy across federal, state, sales tax, and international obligations.
- Perform end-to-end equity administration and stock compensation accounting.
- Execute a disciplined monthly close including revenue recognition and reconciliation.
- Build and maintain rolling multi-year forecasts and executive-ready financial reports.
- Partner with department leaders on budget-vs-actual reviews and tax optimization.
- Oversee and review the work of a Contracted Jr. Accountant.
- Modernize accounting infrastructure, processes, and sales tax strategy.
