Requirements
- 7+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years building payments or financial infrastructure.
- Deep under-the-hood knowledge of funds flows and domestic settlement (ACH, RTP, wires, card rails).
- Experience owning live bank payment integrations, including return and exception handling.
- Demonstrable experience building payment capabilities as reusable services with API and data contracts.
- Experience working directly with sponsor banks, processors, or card networks.
- Proven ability to write detailed requirements (PRDs, stories, acceptance criteria) and hold technical discussions with engineers.
- Experience scaling payment systems through significant volume growth.
- Strong systems thinking, with a focus on edge cases, failure scenarios, and performance benchmarks.
- Proficiency in A/B testing, experimentation methodologies, and staged/canary rollout strategies.
- Experience driving alignment across cross-functional teams and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Own money movement end to end, including bank payment types, payroll card programs, and payout surfaces.
- Design payments capabilities as reusable services with explicit API and data contracts.
- Define and own SLAs, performance benchmarks, and observability for payment services.
- Write detailed product requirements, including PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical scoping.
- Work embedded with engineering teams on discovery, refinement, sprint planning, and production validation.
- Define success metrics, run experiments, and utilize staged rollouts for product features.
- Build alignment across Engineering, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Customer Success, and Business Development.
- Manage relationships with sponsor banks, processors, card networks, and data aggregators.
