Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare communications, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline (PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong scientific reasoning and ability to interpret complex data into communication strategies.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, accounts, and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong client-facing skills and ability to provide strategic counsel.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, online proofing platforms (Workfront Proof or Ziflow), and Veeva Vault.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools for research and content development.
  • Willingness and ability to work Eastern U.S. hours.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor medical writers across assigned therapeutic areas and client accounts, supporting professional development and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Review, revise, and oversee medical and scientific content to ensure accuracy, consistency, strategic alignment, and compliance with applicable client and industry standards.
  • Serve as a key medical advisor to clients, contributing to medical strategies and the design, development, and analysis of communication tactics and deliverables.
  • Act as the primary medical point of contact for assigned projects, building trusted client relationships and providing clear strategic and tactical guidance.
  • Translate complex scientific data into compelling, accurate, and actionable narratives for healthcare audiences, including primary care physicians and specialists.
  • Partner with account and project leads to understand project scope and status, support appropriate budgeting and resourcing, and maintain effective communication across cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to business development activities by supporting proposals, developing scientific content for pitches, and identifying opportunities to strengthen client partnerships.
