Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a scientific or healthcare‑related field (e.g., MSc, PhD, PharmD, MD) preferred; relevant bachelor’s or master’s with extensive experience considered.
  • 8+ years of experience in medical communications or medical writing, including multi‑asset or multi‑account leadership.
  • 3+ years of direct people management and coaching experience.
  • Excellence in scientific writing, data interpretation, and mastery of publication standards.
  • Strong understanding of the clinical research and regulatory landscape, including MLR submission processes.
  • Expertise in strategic thinking, client leadership, and professional facilitation/presentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, graphic software, and collaboration platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to ~20%).

Responsibilities

  • Lead one or more large/high‑complexity accounts by defining and driving integrated medical/scientific communication strategies.
  • Serve as the principal scientific contact for client stakeholders and clinical leads to align strategy with brand priorities.
  • Oversee high‑quality content production across manuscripts, congress materials, training content, and digital assets.
  • Conduct detailed scientific reviews to ensure accuracy, alignment, and compliance with industry standards like GPP, ICMJE, and PhRMA guidelines.
  • Manage 3-5 direct reports including performance evaluations, goal setting, and career development.
  • Provide scientific leadership in pitches, proposals, and advisory boards, while partnering with Client Services on resourcing and scoping.
  • Optimize scientific workflows and maintain quality governance to ensure consistency and efficiency across teams.
