Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical, hands-on experience.
- 4+ years of professional experience analyzing data, identifying trends, and translating raw information into informed business or operational decisions.
- 4+ years of experience working on ambiguous, open-ended analytical or investigative projects.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to work through incomplete or conflicting information.
- Practical proficiency with SQL and Python for data analysis and investigation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex findings clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrated experience presenting analytical findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to produce thorough investigation reports, detailed case write-ups, and well-structured observation notes supported by concrete evidence.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to distinguish meaningful signals from large or complex datasets.
Responsibilities
- Investigate ambiguous and potentially fraudulent or abusive cases end to end, using structured analytical approaches to determine the underlying activity.
- Analyze diverse data sources, behavioral signals, and available evidence to identify deceptive, manipulative, or coordinated activity.
- Develop data-backed conclusions that prioritize user trust, platform integrity, and effective risk management.
- Identify emerging trends and evolving abuse patterns and contribute to the development of new detection strategies and analytical experiments.
- Design or support detection experiments that help uncover new forms of fraud, manipulation, content abuse, and review abuse.
- Document investigations thoroughly through clear case write-ups, observation notes, evidence summaries, and reasoned conclusions.
- Translate complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations that enable stakeholders to make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to address evolving abuse patterns and improve detection capabilities.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders and other decision-makers.
