Requirements
- MD or DO degree with board certification.
- Must be an American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) diplomate.
- Licensed to practice and prescribe legally in Alabama, Missouri, or Mississippi.
- Multi-state practice capability: must hold a valid Letter of Qualification (LOQ) through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) or meet prerequisites to secure one.
- Prior experience conducting telemedicine visits with excellent web-side manner.
- Prior experience working collaboratively with advanced practice professionals and registered dietitians.
- Committed to evidence-based approaches to obesity management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
- Current or previous credentialing with insurance payers is desired.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a clinical setting focusing on evidence-based obesity treatment and chronic weight management.
- Manage own patient panel and collaborate with Registered Dietitians.
- Provide treatment planning and medical management support for complex cases or escalated concerns.
- Prescribe non-controlled obesity medications for patients under direct care.
- Ensure clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are followed consistently.
- Assist in the professional development of APPs through clinical growth support, feedback, and supervision.
- Participate in team-based care initiatives and departmental quality improvement efforts.
- Attend departmental meetings and participate in a rotating after-hours call schedule.
