Requirements
- Strong background in software engineering with experience in large, complex codebases.
- Hands-on experience with AI coding agents like Claude Code or Codex.
- Experience building engineering tooling, including CI/CD pipelines, static analysis, and observability.
- Familiarity with agent instruction conventions and context engineering practices.
- Experience with spec-driven development, fitness functions, and developer platforms.
- Ability to balance deterministic controls with inferential AI-based controls.
- Experience establishing AI governance, enterprise quality standards, and LLM testing infrastructure.
- Knowledge of security risks for autonomous agents such as prompt injection and sandboxing.
- Significant experience managing geographically distributed, high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve an AI engineering harness featuring agent guidance, feedback loops, and quality controls.
- Develop and maintain feedforward guidance such as agent instruction files, reusable skills, and codemods.
- Build automated feedback mechanisms including linters, structural tests, and LLM-based reviewers.
- Establish AI governance, including authority boundaries, testing infrastructure, and quality/security thresholds.
- Define cross-organizational QA and quality-gating standards.
- Establish observability for AI-assisted engineering and track metrics like cost per PR and defect escape rate.
- Lead, coach, and grow a geographically distributed team of harness engineers.
