Requirements
- Professional qualifications such as AAT, CIPP, CIMA or similar.
- Proven experience using finance and payroll software, particularly Xero.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for data analysis.
- Experience delivering payroll services within a small to medium-sized organisation.
- Sound knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial processes.
- Experience managing financial data and producing accurate reports from multiple systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to advise non-finance colleagues.
- Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement of financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the payroll function using Xero Payroll in partnership with the People Services team.
- Prepare and submit PAYE, pension contributions, and VAT returns accurately.
- Lead IR35 assessments and Off-Payroll Working returns to ensure HMRC compliance.
- Maintain financial records, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts, financial reports, and forecasts.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors for compliance reviews.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting.
