Requirements

  • 2+ years in BI or analytics with hands-on experience building SQL-based data models in production.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong SQL proficiency, including CTEs, window functions, and experience writing performant queries against large datasets.
  • Hands-on production experience building SQL-based transformation models using dbt or a comparable framework like Dataform or SQLMesh.
  • Direct experience building end-to-end BI dashboards using Power BI, Databricks, Looker, or similar tools.
  • Ability to design dashboards that facilitate actionable insights through drill-downs, cross-filtering, and leading indicators.
  • Experience gathering and validating requirements directly from non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to debug complex data issues involving logic, data pipelines, or underlying business processes.
  • Comfortable working independently in a still-forming data environment.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with stakeholders across Operations, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain to gather requirements and translate business questions into structured data questions.
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and semantic models that give teams a consistent, governed view of performance.
  • Write and optimize SQL, including CTEs, window functions, and aggregations, against production and unstructured data sources.
  • Build Operations-specific dbt models on top of governed data layers to facilitate the transition to Databricks/dbt reporting.
  • Establish metric definitions and governance to ensure consistency and single-source-of-truth reporting.
  • Validate analysis and data-quality issues, conducting spot checks and verifying findings before finalizing outputs.
  • Maintain and improve automated data extracts utilized daily across the Operations organization.
