Requirements
- Substantial professional experience in corporate and physical security in various geographic and political contexts.
- Significant risk management experience, particularly in a leadership role.
- Proven experience developing, communicating, and executing emergency response plans.
- Strong networking and analytical skills for synthesizing geopolitical information.
- Strong communication skills with experience presenting to executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with subject-matter experts in threat modeling and contingency planning.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in ambiguous or high-intensity situations.
- Experience using digital security tools for secure communication at events.
- Adaptability to work across cultures and with varied stakeholder groups.
- Written and oral fluency in English.
- Willingness to undertake moderate international travel (4-6 trips per year).
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain understanding of environment and physical security challenges for global movement volunteers.
- Strengthen enterprise risk management approach, including policy development and implementation.
- Lead risk and gap assessment processes to track high-risk threats to the Foundation and Wikimedia movement.
- Design and manage emergency response plans for physical security threats, coordinating with internal and external experts.
- Conduct risk assessments for Foundation-funded community conferences and events.
- Provide ongoing crisis support to internal teams working with at-risk communities.
- Maintain readiness for on-call requirements to respond to emergency alerts and manage incident working groups.
- Brief senior leadership on geopolitical trends, risk recommendations, and resource management.
