Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data platform engineering, architecture, or managed services.
- Advanced expertise in cloud data platforms, particularly Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and/or Databricks.
- Experience architecting enterprise cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or Amazon Redshift.
- Production experience with storage technologies including S3, ADLS, Cassandra, or comparable NoSQL platforms.
- Hands-on experience with integration and streaming technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Matillion, Fivetran, or Azure Data Factory.
- Knowledge of workflow orchestration technologies such as Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, or Luigi.
- Advanced SQL skills with ability to debug and optimize complex queries.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience developing automation for operational tasks using Python.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD practices with tools like Bitbucket, GitHub, Flyway, or Liquibase.
- Experience delivering projects for external clients within professional services or consulting.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proven experience as a technical team lead, including mentoring and delegation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, provisioning, operationalisation, and continuous improvement of cloud-native data platforms across AWS, Azure, and modern data ecosystems.
- Translate complex client requirements into scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performing data platform architectures.
- Lead the design and delivery of solutions leveraging technologies such as Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Matillion, and Azure Data Factory.
- Manage multiple client engagements and technical environments simultaneously, ensuring delivery remains on time and aligned with outcomes.
- Analyze complex customer environments, define and prioritize Epics and Tasks, and drive initiatives that mature data platforms.
- Identify opportunities to automate, optimize, and expand client platform capabilities and managed-service offerings.
- Provide technical leadership during client workshops, discovery sessions, and solution-design discussions.
- Establish high-quality engineering standards through code reviews, technical documentation, governance, and performance tuning.
- Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
