Requirements
- 5-15 years in events, experiential marketing, or field marketing with direct ownership of strategy and budget.
- Demonstrated experience owning a conference circuit, including sponsorship evaluation and booth construction.
- Experience running events for federal or public sector buyers is a significant advantage.
- Relationships with Washington venues, producers, and association organizers.
- Track record of building an events program up from part-time or fractional coverage.
- Experience partnering with sales on targeting, follow-up, and pipeline measurement.
- Experience producing owned events such as dinners, roundtables, and summits.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting event briefs and executive prep.
- Strong ability to manage vendors, agencies, and production partners.
- Sound judgment under time pressure and high public visibility.
- Comfort using AI tools in daily workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own Kaizen's events strategy end-to-end.
- Build and run the annual calendar, anchored to the federal buying year.
- Decide where Kaizen shows up and where it doesn't by evaluating sponsorships and booth placements.
- Own our physical presence, including booth design, demo staging, and collateral.
- Run the field motion alongside sales, including account targeting and on-site meeting scheduling.
- Own the satellite program around major shows, such as executive dinners and agency roundtables.
- Land Kaizen leadership on stage and in the content through speaker placement and panel submissions.
- Scope and build Kaizen-hosted events like summits and dinner series.
- Manage spend and tradeoffs across the program while tying events to pipeline and qualified meetings.
- Navigate federal ethics rules regarding gift and hospitality limits.
