Requirements
- Associate degree or paralegal certificate (bachelor's preferred).
- 10+ years of intellectual property docketing experience.
- Significant proficiency in IP docketing platforms like PattsyWave, Foundation IP, or CPi.
- Advanced knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent and trademark prosecution procedures.
- Working knowledge of patent and trademark maintenance fee, annuity, and renewal processes.
- Strong understanding of USPTO, PCT, and Madrid Protocol rules.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and NetDocs.
- Advanced Excel capabilities including large spreadsheet manipulation.
- Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the accurate entry, calculation, monitoring, verification, and completion of patent and trademark docket deadlines.
- Review incoming correspondence and agency communications to identify and record applicable deadlines.
- Validate filings against U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and foreign agency websites.
- Maintain accurate records for timekeeper assignments, new matters, and portfolio transfers.
- Create and distribute advanced docket reports for patent and trademark matters.
- Perform quality assurance reviews to identify and escalate errors or inconsistencies.
- Provide guidance to attorneys and staff regarding agency requirements and IP rules.
- Support the Senior IP Docket Manager with training and process improvement initiatives.
