Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of software engineering experience, including building distributed backend systems and APIs.
  • 3–5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including leading through other managers or senior leads.
  • Strong technical expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, and observability.
  • Experience with CI/CD and modern engineering practices across AWS and/or GCP.
  • Hands-on backend development experience with Go and/or Python.
  • Strong knowledge of data stores, service architecture, and low-latency system design.
  • Experience working in environments requiring operational resilience and 24/7 production support.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business objectives into executable technical plans.
  • Experience in authentication, identity, fraud prevention, or risk engines is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with IAM concepts (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, RBAC) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and mentor engineering managers, senior engineers, and emerging technical leaders.
  • Translate product and engineering strategy into a clear technical roadmap and execution plan.
  • Improve the reliability, scalability, and observability of cloud-native, API-based distributed systems.
  • Drive delivery across multiple initiatives through prioritization and cross-team coordination.
  • Establish and raise engineering standards for architecture, testing, CI/CD, and incident response.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align technical investments with customer outcomes.
  • Define and monitor metrics for system performance, reliability, and engineering effectiveness.
  • Serve as a senior technical escalation point during complex customer issues and production incidents.
  • Guide the integration of AI/ML-backed trust signals into production authentication systems.
