Requirements
- 12+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed production systems.
- Strong backend engineering experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Pyramid, or Django.
- Experience leading technical design for complex systems, including architecture decisions and trade-offs.
- Expertise in relational/NoSQL databases, including schema design, performance tuning, and data modeling.
- Experience building and operating cloud-native systems using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, observability, reliability, and production operational excellence.
- Proven ability to work through ambiguity and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to lead high-impact initiatives independently.
- Demonstrated ability to raise engineering quality through technical standards, design reviews, and mentoring.
- Passion for improving developer experience through tooling and automation.
Responsibilities
- Operates as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for high-impact initiatives.
- Partners with Product Management to map business goals to technical scopes and manage dependencies.
- Leads architectural design, pragmatic task breakdown, and execution planning.
- Establishes reusable patterns, technical standards, and platform primitives.
- Improves engineering efficiency through better tooling, automation, documentation, observability, and developer workflows.
- Mentors engineers and improves the quality of technical decision-making.
- Drives adoption of AI tooling across the software development lifecycle.
