Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with senior-level ownership.
- Strong full-stack proficiency with depth in at least one layer.
- Experience architecting and delivering complex, distributed systems in cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS, serverless, containers).
- Proven ability to lead large, ambiguous projects from design through production.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards.
- Strong communication skills with experience writing clear RFCs and leading design reviews.
- Familiarity with secure SDLC practices, threat modeling, and DevSecOps principles.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with healthcare data standards such as FHIR or HL7.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with compliance frameworks like HIPAA, HITRUST, or SOC2.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with data engineering technologies including Spark and data lake/lakehouse architectures.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, well-tested code and lead technical discussions that raise team standards.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while advocating for technical investments.
- Optimize system performance, specifically targeting improvements in latency, throughput, and resource consumption.
- Architect scalable, secure systems and contribute to ADRs and design reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead team-wide alignment through clear communication and documentation.
- Own incident response and postmortems to maintain platform health.
- Utilize AI tools to accelerate prototyping, generate proofs-of-concept, and improve development efficiency.
