Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience estimating mechanical, refrigeration, or HVAC projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial refrigeration systems, HVAC installations, chilled water systems, mechanical services, and associated construction practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam and PlanSwift.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Experience with Australian Standards and National Construction Code (NCC) is preferred.
- Trade background in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning is highly regarded.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical and refrigeration projects.
- Perform quantity take-offs from mechanical, refrigeration, HVAC, and plumbing drawings.
- Develop accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost breakdowns.
- Review mechanical, refrigeration, HVAC, and construction drawings and specifications.
- Obtain and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams during project handover.
- Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, Australian Standards, and applicable building codes.
