Requirements
- Experience in quality assurance within the food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, or related manufacturing industries.
- Previous plant quality experience supporting one or multiple food manufacturing facilities.
- Knowledge of supplier assessments, quality audits, corrective actions, and risk management processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements, including USDA, FDA, or CFIA standards preferred.
- Understanding of food safety principles, microbiology, HACCP systems, and quality management practices preferred.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier relationship management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and recommend effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel frequently.
- Must be located near a major airport and able to travel independently, including driving as required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site assessments of new production lines, product extensions, equipment installations, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Support commercialization activities for new products, renovations, innovations, and ongoing product maintenance initiatives.
- Evaluate and improve business tools and processes to increase efficiency within supplier onboarding and quality operations.
- Monitor, track, and report corrective actions, remediation progress, and follow-up timelines from assessments and audits.
- Review external manufacturing partner HACCP plans and evaluate compliance with food safety and quality expectations.
- Communicate quality risks, findings, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders and business partners.
- Schedule and lead supplier assessment activities, including structured phone assessments and audit preparation discussions.
- Provide support for factory, external manufacturer, and supplier assessments, including quality programs and audit initiatives.
- Partner with procurement, operations, quality, and commercialization teams to manage supplier risks and improve performance.
- Travel approximately 40–55% to support supplier visits, assessments, and business initiatives.
