Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in IT or Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical skills gained through internships, bootcamps, or self-directed learning.
- Foundational understanding of operating systems (Windows/Mac).
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (IPs, DNS, HTTP).
- Familiarity with common security terminology.
- Strong critical thinking and ability to follow logical workflows or playbooks.
- Clear written communication skills.
- Growth-oriented mindset with a goal to advance into a core security operations role.
- Active participation in the security community (e.g., conferences, CTFs).
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Network+ are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Review incoming security signals from a dedicated queue using established playbooks.
- Dismiss non-actionable or benign signals to reduce alert fatigue for the senior team.
- Categorize and tag qualified threats by creating detailed investigation tickets.
- Participate in training modules, labs, and certification programs to build security knowledge.
- Shadow senior analysts to understand investigation lifecycles.
- Identify and document trends in noisy signal sources to help refine detection tuning.
