Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related data platform role.
- Demonstrated experience working within an enterprise data warehouse environment at scale.
- Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas).
- Experience designing/maintaining data pipelines and transformation layers in cloud warehouses (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering and analytics workloads.
- Experience implementing data governance (retention, PII controls, access controls) within a production platform.
- Experience with Databricks features (Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, or workflows).
- Experience designing and maintaining a semantic or metrics layer.
- Proficiency in version control tools (GitHub, Git).
- Strong documentation practices for data dictionaries and lineage.
Responsibilities
- Evolve Common App’s shared data warehouse, semantic layer, and reusable data assets for scalable analytics and AI readiness.
- Operationalize data governance standards within enterprise systems to ensure they are technically enforceable.
- Refactor existing tables and pipelines for improved performance, cost efficiency, and maintainability.
- Design and implement automated data quality frameworks, including validation logic and monitoring/alerting.
- Architect data products that structure the platform for scalability, data quality, and self-service analytic consumption.
- Partner with data engineering and research teams to deliver insight-ready data and documentation.
