Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator supporting MySQL and PostgreSQL in production environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency with data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, dbt, or Lucidchart.
- Advanced SQL skills with proven experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience supporting Agile/Scrum development teams as an embedded DBA.
- Deep understanding of backup/recovery, security, replication, and high-availability architecture.
- Proven experience providing production support and resolving critical incidents under pressure.
- Experience with database change management and release processes.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and communicate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies as the database subject matter expert.
- Design and maintain logical and physical data models using tools such as Erwin.
- Install, configure, and maintain MySQL and PostgreSQL instances across all environments.
- Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and lead capacity planning.
- Serve as senior/primary DBA support for production systems, including on-call rotation.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex database incidents and performance degradation.
- Guide and review the work of junior DBAs or developers on database-related tasks.
