Requirements
- 5+ years as a software engineer.
- 2+ years leading a team (team lead, tech lead with people responsibility, or engineering manager) in a product company.
- Strong hands-on Linux background.
- Proficiency reading and reviewing production code in Go and/or Python.
- Experience debugging live systems.
- Proven track record of shipping and operating a distributed backend service under real production load.
- Experience with observability and data tooling (e.g., Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, Redash).
- Demonstrated people leadership including 1:1s, performance conversations, and hiring.
- Experience or clear appetite to lead an agentic / AI-assisted development workflow.
- Professional proficiency in English, written and spoken.
- Availability to work EU hours.
Responsibilities
- Translate the product backlog into a sequenced engineering plan and maintain a weekly release cadence.
- Manage team operations including planning, release readiness, and status reporting.
- Oversee engineering quality gates for model releases to ensure reliable detection and rollback paths.
- Define technical architecture, review designs, and manage build-vs-buy decisions.
- Ensure production health by monitoring SLOs, alerting, and deliverability infrastructure.
- Act as incident commander for product-impacting events and author post-mortems.
- Lead a distributed team through 1:1s, hiring, performance reviews, and career development.
- Promote AI-augmented engineering workflows and coach the team on effective coding agent utilization.
